Sonia’s early life was based in Oamaru with her fun and active family. After many family holidays in the great outdoors, Sonia left to attend the University of Otago where she spent 6 years as a scarfie. Not one to mind the cold though, she journeyed to Antarctica during her study and came out the other side with a Masters in Science under her belt.
The big smoke of Christchurch beckoned with a job and she spent a few years working for a GPS company before escaping the desk and heading to a local ski field for a winter job in the ticket office. She met Pete and the rest is history. Before being pretty busy with three little girls, Sonia spent a lot of her free time mountaineering, tramping, mountain biking and skiing, reading and baking.
